350.org is a global movement of ordinary people working to tackle the climate crisis. Founded in 2008, it campaigns and organizes locally and globally to create a world powered by just and accessible renewable energy that moves us away from fossil fuels, for good.
People power for a fossil-free world
350.org takes its name from 350 parts per million, the safe level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Its strategy has two sides: resisting fossil fuel projects and the banks and insurers that fund them, and building support for energy from the sun and wind that communities can own.
That work shows up as campaigns against new coal, oil, and gas projects, the global fossil fuel divestment movement, and mass mobilizations that bring hundreds of thousands of people into the streets. Behind it is a network of local groups that 350.org trains and equips to lead in their own communities.
