1. Overview
Inspired Member, Inc. (“Inspired,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates websites, applications, integrations, APIs, widgets, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”) that enable donation gift functionality and cause engagement experiences.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when individuals and businesses interact with the Platform.
Depending on the context of your interaction, Inspired may act either as a service provider to a Distribution Partner or as an independent business.
By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Platform and does not apply to third-party websites or services not controlled by Inspired.
2. Definitions
Distribution Partner A “Distribution Partner” is a business, merchant, ecommerce brand, marketplace, platform, or service provider that integrates, embeds, enables, or distributes Inspired functionality to its customers or users.
Charity Partner A “Charity Partner” is a nonprofit organization that participates in Inspired’s impact amplification program.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only the personal information reasonably necessary to provide Platform functionality and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
3.1 Information Collected Directly From You
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:
Redeem a donation gift
Select a cause
Create an Inspired account
Opt in to receive communications
Contact customer support
This may include:
Name
Email address
Phone number
Mailing address
Cause preferences
Communication preferences
When you interact directly with Inspired in these ways, Inspired acts as an independent business with respect to that personal information.
3.2 Information Provided by Distribution Partners
We may receive personal information from Distribution Partners in order to enable donation gift functionality.
For example, when you complete a qualifying action (such as making a purchase or accepting an offer) through a Distribution Partner, certain information may be transmitted to Inspired through technical integrations.
This may include:
Identifiers (such as name, email and mailing address)
Transaction details (such as purchase date and order value)
Device and browser information
General location information derived from IP address
Preferences shared with the Distribution Partner
When Inspired processes personal information solely on behalf of a Distribution Partner to provide Platform functionality, Inspired acts as a service provider.
If you take action directly within the Inspired Platform (such as redeeming a gift or opting in to communications), Inspired acts as an independent business with respect to that information.
We do not disclose personal information to Distribution Partners beyond what they originally collected, except as necessary to administer Platform functionality selected by the user.
Inspired may associate cause selection or redemption activity with order identifiers solely to provide Platform functionality to the originating Distribution Partner.
Referral and campaign attribution. When you arrive through a Distribution Partner or campaign link, that link can carry information about which Distribution Partner or campaign you came from, such as campaign and source identifiers. We use this to attribute impressions and redemptions to the relevant Distribution Partner or campaign so that we can bill that Distribution Partner for the activity we deliver to them. Those partners pay us for the service. This is a business and accounting function and is not used to track you across other websites. Links that take you onward to a charity's own site may carry a simple label identifying us as the source, which contains no information about you.
3.3 Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain technical and usage data, including:
IP address
Browser and device information
Pages viewed
Interaction data
Access times
We collect general location information derived from IP address data for fraud prevention, analytics, and service optimization. We do not collect precise geolocation data such as GPS-level tracking.
Approximate location. We use your approximate country, derived from your network address by our content delivery provider, to apply the correct consent rules and to operate the service. We do not use it to identify you.
3.4 Voluntary Consumer Donations and Payment Processing
After redeeming a donation gift, individuals may have the option to make an additional voluntary donation to a participating Charity Partner. Payment processing for voluntary consumer donations is handled by Stripe or another third-party payment processor. Payment information, including credit card details, is collected and processed directly by the payment processor. Inspired does not receive, store, access, or retain payment card numbers or full financial account information. Voluntary donations are processed directly by the payment processor to the applicable Charity Partner. Donation funds do not flow through Inspired. Stripe acts as an independent payment processor, and its privacy policy governs the collection and processing of payment information provided in connection with voluntary donations.
3.5 Voluntary Submissions and Feedback
We may collect information that you voluntarily provide to us in connection with your relationship with Inspired, whether through the Platform or through other communications.
This may include feedback, testimonials, survey responses, communications, or other content you choose to provide.
We may use such information for legitimate business purposes, including improving our services, developing case studies, reporting, and marketing materials.
If we publish a testimonial or quote that includes your name or other identifiable information, we will do so with appropriate permission. Otherwise, we may use feedback in de-identified or aggregated form.
3.6 Sensitive Personal Information
Inspired does not collect sensitive personal information such as:
Social Security numbers
Financial account numbers
Government-issued identification numbers
Health data
Biometric identifiers
Precise geolocation data
If we collect sensitive personal information as defined by applicable law, we will use it only for purposes permitted by law.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain Platform functionality, authenticate users, analyze usage, and improve our services.
Certain cookies are necessary for the operation of the Platform. Other cookies, such as analytics cookies, help us understand how users interact with the Platform. We may use third-party analytics providers to assist in measuring and improving Platform performance.
We do not use personal information collected through cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies, consent, and your choices
We use a consent management tool provided by Termly to show our cookie notice and to record your choices. You can review or change your choices at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of our pages.
How we ask depends on where you are. Where you are located determines how we handle analytics. In the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the wider EEA, we ask for your consent before any analytics run. In the United States and most other regions, analytics run by default and you can opt out. Termly applies the appropriate rule based on your approximate location.
The categories we use.
Strictly necessary. These run without consent because they are needed for what you asked to do, such as keeping you signed in, supporting a voluntary donation handled by our payment processor, holding your place in a redemption, remembering a device so we can restore your progress and complete a verification step, and protecting the service against abuse.
Analytics. These need your consent. They include product analytics and A/B testing that help us understand and improve the service. We do not run advertising or marketing cookies.
Temporary session identifier for measurement. If you have not consented to analytics, and where local rules allow, we generate a temporary identifier that exists only in your browser's memory for the length of your visit. It is never written to a cookie or any other storage on your device, it is not linked to your name, email, or account, and it is discarded when you leave. We use it for one purpose only: to count impressions and redemptions — how many times a gift was shown and how many were redeemed — so that we can bill the partners and merchants whose campaigns appear in our service. Those partners pay us for the service, and we rely on our legitimate interest in operating and billing for it for this limited measurement. We do not use this identifier for advertising or to build a profile of you.
Measurement sent from our servers. Some measurement is sent from our own servers rather than from your browser. We apply your choice to this measurement as well. Where you have not consented, we do not send events that contain personal data, and we limit ourselves to the anonymous counts described above. These server-side counts do not use your network address to determine your location.
Email open and click measurement. If we send you an email, we may measure whether it was opened and whether links were clicked. In the European Union and the United Kingdom we do this only with your consent, and elsewhere you can opt out. This is separate from operational records that only confirm an email reached your mail provider.
Browser-Based Privacy Signals
Because Inspired does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, Global Privacy Control signals do not change how we process personal information.
The Platform does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
5. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
Operate and maintain the Platform
Enable donation gift functionality
Facilitate gift redemption
Send transactional communications
Facilitate opt-ins to Charity Partners
Provide customer support
Detect fraud and maintain security
Comply with legal obligations
We do not use personal information collected in connection with donation gift functionality to build advertising profiles or sell personal data.
We may aggregate or de-identify personal information so that it can no longer reasonably be associated with an individual. We use such de-identified information for lawful business purposes and maintain safeguards to prevent re-identification.
Transactional and Service Communications
Where personal information is provided to Inspired by a Distribution Partner in connection with a qualifying action, Inspired may use that information to contact you directly to deliver, administer, or facilitate the associated donation gift experience.
For example, if you become eligible to redeem a donation gift but do not immediately select a cause, Inspired may send reminder emails to facilitate completion of your gift selection.
These communications are triggered by your qualifying interaction and are considered transactional or service-related messages. They do not require prior marketing opt-in.
Transactional communications may include:
Gift eligibility notifications
Redemption confirmations
Reminder emails
Account or service notices
If you opt out of marketing communications, you will continue to receive transactional or service-related communications.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We do not provide Distribution Partners with new personal information they did not originally collect.
We may share personal information with:
Charity Partners, if you expressly opt in
Service providers performing services on our behalf
Payment processors in connection with voluntary donations
Legal authorities when required by law
Successors in the event of a business transfer
We require service providers to use personal information only to perform services on our behalf and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Service providers and international transfers. We share limited information with providers who act on our behalf, which currently include our product analytics provider, our A/B testing provider, our error monitoring provider, our payment providers, our optional feedback form provider, our email provider, our consent management provider, and our hosting providers. Some of these providers are located in the United States, so your information may be transferred there under appropriate safeguards. We will keep the named list of providers current in this policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to:
Provide the Platform
Fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy
Comply with legal obligations
Maintain business records
Personal information received from Distribution Partners is retained only as long as necessary to provide services on their behalf.
De-identified information may be retained for lawful business purposes.
For example, transactional records may be retained for accounting, audit, or compliance purposes, while marketing preferences are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information.
No system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
9. International Users
Inspired is based in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States in accordance with U.S. law.
10. Your U.S. Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain data uses as permitted by law.
If Inspired is acting as a service provider with respect to your personal information, please contact the applicable Distribution Partner directly to exercise your rights.
If you interacted directly with Inspired, you may submit requests to:
help@inspired.com
P.O. Box 31
Manhattan Beach, CA 90267
We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, generally within 45 days unless an extension is permitted.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Your choices and rights. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time through the Cookie Preferences link. When you withdraw consent or opt out, we stop the related analytics and remove the analytics and related storage we control on your device. You can also ask to access or delete your information. See the relevant sections of this policy for how to make a request and how long we keep information.

Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, to withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at help@inspired.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising them.
